Art and Wine
A DELIGHTFUL COMBINATION OF CREATIVITY
By Joan S. Peck
Judi Moreo, a renowned speaker and author, has turned her talents into painting exquisite art pieces. Many of her first works were based on those animals dear to her heart that she encountered in Africa, where she lived for several years and her subsequent safari visits. Always curious to try new things, Judi’s work expanded to include all types of art—watercolor, oils, acrylics— and styles.
Judi’s success in art has her teaching art at UNLV and other private venues where her students learn and excel. A natural-born teacher and coach, Judi has a way of encouraging others by believing in them and their talent to attempt things (speaking, writing, painting, and television) they were hesitant to do. More than that, as the proud teacher, Judi loves to show off her art students’ accomplishments and recently hosted an art show for four lucky students at Grape Expectation—Nevada School of Winemaking—the only winery in Nevada.
Patty Peters, an owner of Grape Expectations’ joined the crowded room of people buzzing with excitement over the beautiful creations by the students adorning the walls of its café while enjoying delicious wine. It doesn’t get better than that!

The four lucky artists showing their work were:
Susan Berger – large paintings of a white gardenia and a red rose.
Gloria Sato – paintings of bear cubs and a peacock
Wendy Delafox Pena – paintings of a chimpanzee and a rooster
Madeline DeAngelo – paintings of two different clowns
The art show was beautiful, with many people commenting on the high energy of the room filled with so many creative people under the same roof. It was a time for all the artists in the room to reflect on how fortunate they were to express themselves in such a beautiful way. And we, the observers, are lucky to benefit from all they created.
