Saturday in Symphony Park

It was a beautiful spring afternoon in Symphony Park for an art show and live music performances. The City of Las Vegas hosted this event featuring various artists, craftspeople, and performers from across the valley. Even though we got there later in the afternoon, plenty was going on for the few hours before the show ended.

50 and Fabulous

On Friday, Carmina Burana!—a massive production with over 120 operatic singers, dancers, and musicians, will make its official debut. The Las Vegas Master Singers are sending over 59 choristers who will remain on stage for the entire production. There will be a live orchestra featuring members of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, conducted by Donato Cabrera, and the company’s 18 dancers will be joined by three veteran vocal soloists flying in from Salt Lake City.

A Day of Celebration

Roxy Jones is a talented 15-year-old musician who has been studying piano since she was four. Roxy has won the Forgotten Song Foundation scholarship more than once. My husband, Curtis, and I were thrilled to represent the foundation that evening and were honored to attend the Henderson Symphony Orchestra in February 2022 to watch her perform Chopin's Concerto No. 1 in e minor, in its entirety.

A Visit to Palm Springs

Before the heat sets in for the summer and late spring, my husband, Curtis, and I decided to take a quick trip to Palm Desert and Palm Springs area.  We hadn’t been there in about 3 years or more and decided it was time for a little R&R and a brief getaway for a few days.
