CELEBRITY PSYCHIC MEDIUM THOMAS JOHN BRINGS SPIRITS TO THE STRIP
By Stacey Gualandi
When it comes to psychic mediums, I fall somewhere between sucker and cynic.
That’s why I was intrigued to meet Thomas John—one of the country’s most in-demand spirit-channelers—in person.
In January, John launched his first Las Vegas residency at Cleopatra’s Barge inside Caesars Palace, aptly titled “THOMAS JOHN: CELEBRITY PSYCHIC MEDIUM,” and due to popular demand, his show was just extended on the Strip. Now he will continue to share his unique talent with audiences through July 26, 2020.
“Being in Las Vegas has been a truly amazing experience,” says John. “My life mission is to bring peace of mind, comfort, joy and sometimes laughter to those who long for contact with a loved one who has passed and I am grateful to be able to make connections nightly, because our spirits never die.”
At 4, John discovered his uncanny ability to connect people with family and friends who have crossed over, but didn’t “go public” until years later.
Since then, he’s appeared on numerous television shows like “Dr. Phil” and “The Real Housewives of New York City;” he’s developed a CBS All Access show with James Corden; and he’s earned a “Who’s Who” of celebrity clients, from Julianne Moore and Jennifer Lopez, to Goldie Hawn and Courteney Cox.
John says during readings with LaToya Jackson, her brother Michael Jackson came through, and he’s channeled Whitney Houston several times.
“Her friend came to me for a reading,” admits John. “A lot of people who knew Whitney in the music industry came to me; one man was trying to finish a project that they had started and he was hoping to get guidance about it.”
But knowing all that, I doubted John could connect with someone once close to me.
Well, he had me at: “Is your grandmother’s name Irene?”
John took no time in correctly ID’ing my grandmother and her passing over a decade ago (she died in 2004). I admit, it kinda freaked me out. But John reassured me that my grandma is always near, watching over me and my husband. How he does this I have no idea, but it turned out to be a very comforting revelation.
I now understand why so many line up for that slight chance to see John channel people close to us, but no longer with us.
“We love [those we’ve lost] and we miss them at the connection of love,” says John. “People have unresolved things; people have questions; people would like a validation that somebody is with them, misses them or has a message.”
The night I attended one of his “experiences,” several people shed tears after John seemed to connect to their daughters, brothers, and fathers in the after-life.
“You could come five times in a week and it’s a different show every night,” says John. “Truthfully, I don’t know who’s going to get a reading and I don’t know what’s going to come through.”
That’s exactly why this psychic has his eye on keeping his extended run at Caesars Palace new, entertaining and focused on the readings. While John insists he’s no grief counselor, he hopes this platform will continue to help people.
“I think [my show] will be something that people can come back to time and time again. I want to be here for a long time, so hopefully that will continue.”
