HAV Horse Rescue, a nonprofit in Las Vegas founded by Alice Whitfield and David Hammer, is dedicated to rescuing and rehoming surrendered horses. Whitfield, a former Broadway performer, and Hammer, a successful businessman, were high school sweethearts who reconnected after 53 years apart and now run the rescue together. The rescue not only provides a sanctuary for horses in need of medical care and attention but also offers a place for volunteers to connect with animals. The facility is expanding to include a state-of-the-art equine rehabilitation center. The couple’s story is one of rekindled love and a shared passion for helping horses, providing a second chance for both the animals and themselves.
