Healing Powers of Salt
FLOTATION AND SALT THERAPY

“The cure for anything is saltwater: sweat, tears or the sea.” — Isak Dinesen
Since the days of Egypt’s Queen Cleopatra, salt therapies have been known to have therapeutic benefits. Whether dipping themselves in the Dead Sea or taking treks into Eastern European salt caves, sufferers of many different respiratory and skin ailments have benefited from the restorative powers of salts.
Salt not only plays a crucial role in maintaining the health in your body but also cleanses your mind & soul.
How can salt heal?
A popular myth is, “Salt is Bad for you!” Salt is the primary source of sodium and chloride ions in the human diet, essential for nerve and muscle function. Very little of the salt we eat comes from the salt shaker, either in the kitchen or at the table. The majority of “bad salt” comes from food processing—luncheon meats, pasta sauce, canned soup, and fast foods. A burger with cheese and fries delivers 2,000 mg or nearly a day’s worth of sodium. If you avoid processed food and always consume rock salt or unrefined sea salt in your diet, you will never have to worry about salt affecting your health again.
Ayurvedic medicine uses salt to treat diabetes, reduce depression and stress, prevent and heal muscle cramps, keep the blood vessels flexible, help in digestion, and relieve a number of skin problems, to name a few. A concentrated saltwater solution called “Solé” when taken in the morning helps naturally detoxifying your body, balance your pH level, regulate digestion as well as blood pressure and sugar level.
Spiritually speaking, salt is considered the great neutralizer. It can help cleanse, heal, and balance energy while repelling negative vibrations. A simple salt bath provides immense benefits in cleansing your aura and helping you feel rejuvenated.
Floatation Therapy and Salt Therapy (AKA Halotherapy) are a few common ways to restore the mind, body & soul connection. Both of these therapies are widely available in Las Vegas.
- Floating is a therapeutic experience that allows the body to heal and the mind to recharge. The Float Tanks are filled with over 1200 lbs. of mineral Epsom salt, which enables your body to float effortlessly. Floatation therapy helps with pain relief, muscular relaxation and allows you to destress physically and mentally and enhance creativity.
- Halotherapy is a drug-free holistic therapy that recreates the microclimate of a salt cave, where you relax and breathe in the salt-infused air. It helps clear the respiratory tract by bringing inflammation down and opening up the airways.
As Pythagoras says, “Salt is born of the purest parents—the sun and the sea.” Who would have thought that this seemingly insignificant commodity would be packed with ancient healing powers and play such an essential role in our lives?
