HUKL Hospitality Adds Marché Bacchus French Bistro to Its Growing Portfolio

By Elaine & Scott Harris

For decades, many patrons have enjoyed the feeling of Parisian charm with a lakeside view at Marché Bacchus in affluent Desert Shores at Lakeside Village. HUKL Hospitality, which focuses on impeccable service, excellent cuisine, and a top-notch management team, recently acquired Marché Bacchus to add to its world-class hospitality brand. Marché Bacchus has become part of a distinguished family of brands, including Ciao Vino, La Madre Canyon Grill, Vamp’d, and more.

Sitting down with a spectacular lakeside view, General Manager John Dakin explained, “I came from Trevi at the Forum Shops and joined HUKL Hospitality. Marché Bacchus has always had a small family atmosphere frequented by locals. HUKL is a large company, but at Marché Bacchus, we plan to keep that family-owned, convivial atmosphere that the regulars have enjoyed for many years.”

Pulling out the new menus, he continued, “New menu items have been added, along with a series of wine dinners that are planned as well.”

The beloved retail wine shop still features one of the best selections in the city. It is well known for its curated variety of fine wines and hidden gems for wine enthusiasts across the city and beyond. It continues to offer a spectacular collection of French, Mediterranean, and global vintages and remains an oenophile destination for premium wines and cellar-quality selections.

Familiar with the menu, we were excited to peruse the updated offerings.

  • Escargot Persillade – white wine-braised Burgundy snails, garlic butter, and toasted breadcrumbs.
  • The classic Beef Bourguignon – red wine-braised short ribs, roasted vegetables, bacon, and pomme purée – exemplifies the elegance of haute French cuisine.
  • The Duck Confit Leg with potato purée, orange duck jus, and glazed turnips offers plating and palate sophistication.
  • A fan-favorite, the French Dip – roasted Angus beef, Provolone on a toasted baguette, au jus, creamy horseradish, and fries or frites – is decidedly delectable.
  • A house favorite, Coq au Vin – red wine-braised chicken, bacon lardons, roasted vegetables, mushrooms, and peewee potatoes – merges French flair with the freshest ingredients.

For a special occasion or any occasion, dine by the lovely Lake Jacqueline and transport yourself from Marseille to Marché Bacchus.
