Music has long been a force of empowerment, and this June, it takes center stage in a powerful tribute to the legendary women who have shaped it. On June 22, powerhouse vocalist Michelle Johnson, often called “Las Vegas’ First Lady of Jazz,” will celebrate her birthday and mark her 22nd show at the Smith Center’s Myron’s venue with “Girl Power! A Celebration of Musical Sheroes.”

A fierce advocate for female empowerment through music, Johnson has curated a one-of-a-kind cabaret experience honoring the trailblazing women who broke barriers and redefined the industry. The evening will span multiple eras and genres, from Ella Fitzgerald, the Supremes and Tina Turner to Sara Bareilles, Lady Gaga and beyond—blending jazz, Broadway, rock, country and R&B into a mesmerizing musical journey.
But “Girl Power! A Celebration of Musical Sheroes” is more than just a concert—it’s a storytelling experience. Johnson will share lesser-known stories about the women behind the music between powerhouse performances, offering a deeper appreciation of their triumphs, struggles and lasting impact. These sheroes were more than just chart-topping voices—they were pioneers, visionaries and fierce believers in their craft. Their legacies serve as a blueprint for resilience, courage and authenticity—qualities Johnson herself has embraced in her own career.

Having spent years trying to fit others’ expectations, Johnson reclaimed her power as a woman and an artist. Now, she channels that freedom into her performances, inspiring audiences to embrace their own voices, passions and dreams.
With Dan Ellis, her first-ever musical director in Las Vegas, returning for this special show, “Girl Power! A Celebration of Musical Sheroes” is truly a full-circle moment. Whether you’re gathering with friends for a girls’ night out or simply looking for an unforgettable evening of music and inspiration, this show is for everyone.
Join the celebration on June 22 at 7 p.m. inside Myron’s at the Smith Center. Come ready to sing, dance and soak in the power of music’s greatest sheroes! Tickets can be purchased online on the Smith Center website.
