Palm Springs Chic… With a Twist!

TWIST PALM SPRINGS – BOUTIQUE HOTEL

By Stacey Gualandi

Twist Palm Springs is an orange slice of heaven. On a recent weekend getaway to the desert, my husband and I got to marvel at the mid-century-style boutique hotel, and all I can say is I’m now mad for mod.

Twist offers everything from a studio to a 2-bedroom suite, with mountain or city views. Our first-floor studio was classic Palm Springs chic, complete with Andy Warhol-inspired artwork, a throwback kitchen, Twist martini glasses, swanky swivel chairs, and patio chaise lounges with a fire pit (in orange, of course!). It felt like we checked in to Wandavision!

Oh, and right outside our door was a putting green with … you guessed it—orange golf balls.

The modernist multi-level hotel is located in Palm Springs’ uptown design district dating back to the 1920s and is within a short walking distance to downtown. But just next door is a Tiki bar (Bootlegger); vintage store (Iconic Atomic); and cozy coffee shop (Ernest), while Palm Springs style-setter Trina Turk’s “headquarters” is right around the corner.

Even if you don’t feel like venturing out, you can always dine at dusk next to the palm tree-lined pool and spa. Swans are optional.

Now, if you haven’t already noticed, Twist is for tweeters. And Instagrammers. Basically, anyone who can’t pass up the perfect post (myself included). With so many photo ops everywhere you turn, I wasted no time setting up our own selfie shoot.

Lastly, I must give a Twist and shout out to the hotel’s mod squad, including Director of Rooms Chris Morano, and also Bryon Burkett in engineering, who all took great care of us; let me sit in the official Twist-mobile, and shared my passion for orange.  We can’t wait to go retro again.

This is just a taste of Twist, but orange you glad I took a bite?
