Self-Love Isn’t Selfish
THREE WAYS TO CULTIVATE SELF-LOVE

“To fall in love with yourself is the first secret of happiness.” – Robert Morley
Imagine a world where everyone is empowered, strong, loving, and giving. Imagine from the minute you wake up, you only engage in activities that feed your soul, and everyone encourages you to stay in your power, and you feel comfortable in your skin, and you feel loved and accepted just the way you are. A time where every step you take is supported and every move you make is guided, and there are no mistakes; there is no lack, only flow and abundance…
Sounds like a myth? Well, it’s not! The only person, however, that can give you that is YOU! The only person that can take it away from you is also YOU!
Self-love is the foundation for all love. Someone who is unable to love herself is not able to give love unconditionally. When you feel loved and empowered, it is impossible to treat others otherwise…it’s a ripple effect!
Here are a few ways to cultivate self-love:
- Listen to your intuition. You have an inner navigation system that’s always guiding you. However, the old programming from childhood, school, parents, society, religion can cloud your judgment, making it hard to hear your inner voice. One way to tune back in is to trust your feelings… if it feels good, do it; if it doesn’t, don’t.
- Make self-care a priority. There is no right way to self-care, but it is hard to fill from an empty cup. We are all big kids with needs, and until those needs are met, the inner child will resent. Take care of your inner child, give it what it wants, and it will gladly share the good and spread the love.
- Focus on your growth. Remember that thing you’ve always wanted to do, the book you’ve always wanted to take, the skill you’ve always wanted to learn. Today is a good day to start. When you focus on your growth, you have no time to look back, reminisce, overthink, or compare to others. Grow your soul and step into your power. It will get you closer to your purpose.
You live in alignment with your purpose when you love yourself unconditionally, and you become whole and loving, and serving others comes effortlessly.
