TIME MACHINE
A VISUAL JOURNEY THROUGH TIME AND SPACE
By Joan S. Peck
On Saturday, July 17th, I happily attended the Las Vegas Artists’ Guild [“LVAG”] reception in the Galleria Mall in Henderson to celebrate the summer juried show, Time Machine, with show dates July 13 – August 28, 2021
With its motto “Artists Helping Artists,” the Las Vegas Artists’ Guild is a 501(c)3 founded in 1996 by a group of local Las Vegas artists led by Andre Mouton. LVAG Gallery is a stunning exhibition space for the members and features over 100 works at their newly-located space at the Galleria at Sunset Suite 2109. Various mediums include oil and acrylic paintings, sculptures, glass, photography, jewelry, and more.
Its mission and primary purpose is to bring talented, established, and emerging artists in the Vegas Valley area to the public’s attention. With monthly meetings, workshops, and various art shows, the LVAG strives to offer education in the arts and opportunities for artists to fulfill artistic dreams. Local, amateur, and professional artists of the Las Vegas Artists’ Guild reach these goals through networking, regular gatherings, workshops, demonstrations, exhibitions, and community involvement.

The Time Machine exhibit is the brainchild of Jeffrey Oldham, LVAG’s Director. The other ten Board members signed on to create a fascinating visual journey thru Time and Space, transforming the gallery into a virtual Time Machine with mysterious portals to the distant past and unknown future.
“The concept of time travel has been the topic of countless discussions for centuries. Is it possible? If so, when in time would you go? What would you do? What would you like to see? Who would you seek out to meet and talk to? What would you bring back with you from your incredible journey through time?”
“The LVAG Gallery is a Time Machine. The portals that you see are the doorways through time and space, both past and future. The artwork corresponds with the time era that the artists traveled to. Their personal creations convey their thoughts, feelings and their experience through the Time Machine.”
HONORABLE JUDGE Brian Paco Alvarez, a well-known Las Vegas native Brian Paco Alvarez is an Anthropologist, entrepreneur, and thought leader in the arts with many credentials.
It was exciting to see all the beautiful artwork and creations. Make this a “must-see” stop in your travels, and don’t miss out on viewing this wild, wonderful exhibit for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
