The THIRD Street project in Las Vegas, billed as the city's first multi-venue, multidisciplinary arts and media incubator, has signed a 31-year lease to secure its future at 814 S. 3rd St. Originally built as a multi-screen cinema complex — formerly known as the Eclipse Theaters, Art Houz Theaters and Downtown Cinemas — THIRD Street is now ground zero for a spectacular new home for the arts.
And sew it begins. On Stage Essentials — a boa, button and bobbin-filled boutique — isn't just your basic stitch and supply shop. It's a revolution in Las Vegas' legendary costume landscape. From skull caps to silamide to whopper popper snaps, this 2,000-square-foot space is Sin City's one-stop shop for performers, designers and creators looking to make show-stopping costumes.

In a darkened theater, audience members are immersed in "The Wonderful World of Was," a musical dramedy presented by the nonprofit Social Issues Theatre, about a man diagnosed with Alzheimer's who loses his wife and caregiver. His care falls to his self-centered daughter, personal assistant, long-time friend and maintenance man, all of whom have no prior experience in dementia care.
Despite a wealth of art galleries, concert halls, and intimate stages, Las Vegas lacks a proper venue to display cinematic artistry. That’s why The Beverly Theater was conceived. Upon its completion in early 2023, The Beverly Theater will be the first and only purpose-built home for independent cinema in the city.
