Falling for Fashion With Anne Fontaine<\/h1>\n

Words to live \u2026 or should I say, shop by.<\/p>\n

For Anna Stewart Vian Billings, general manager \u2014 aka \u201cboutique boss babe\u201d \u2014 of Anne Fontaine at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, her mantra is simple:<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time a woman comes in, we need to make a connection,\u201d Billings says. \u201cIt is about making a connection that we can build on for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>

I\u2019ve witnessed this firsthand. As a client of Billings for several years, I always feel confident when I walk out of Anne Fontaine, most likely with a purchase in hand. She is a retail leader who is well-versed in luxury fashion, with an emphasis on charitable endeavors.<\/p>\n

Right now, her philanthropic focus is on St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital\u2019s annual gala \u201cTaste of Viva St. Jude\u201d on Sept. 26 at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa. Billings returns as the event\u2019s fashion chairperson, a role that is close to her heart.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s because my little sister was born with a heart condition. Back in the \u201960s when you were a blue baby, you weren\u2019t given much time to live. Libby lived till she was 50,\u201d Billings admits. \u201cI remember the four or five different surgeries, oxygen tanks and all that craziness she went through when we were little.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>

St. Jude\u2019s raised more than a million dollars last year, but Billings is praying for at least $1.5 million this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re up [in fundraising] so far, but my goal for every client who leaves this boutique is to know about St. Jude\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n

She was quick to point out that this year\u2019s gala is \u201call about sparkle,\u201d which they have in abundance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWomen need to be able to feel confidence anywhere they go, even if it\u2019s not at a gala,\u201d she says. \u201cLet\u2019s say they\u2019re going in for an interview, they need to have that black jacket; a beautiful pair of black slacks; a great scarf; little earrings and a great heel. Then you\u2019re ready for the interview.\u201d<\/p>\n

For fall, Billings says Anne Fontaine is definitely going big with burgundies and hunter greens, and she is always going \u201cto have that masculine feel in her suits, but still have a feminine touch too.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>
