Finding Balance in the City That Never Rests:
Jaime Peterson Ayoub’s Holistic Approach to Wellness
By Eartha A. Terrell
It’s a typical, bustling day as I scramble for my notebook and recorder, setting out to interview Jaime Peterson Ayoub, owner of Balance Breath Bliss. The irony is that while I rush to make sure I haven’t forgotten anything, I’m greeted by a warm, gentle-moving woman who smiles graciously and welcomes me into what feels like an oasis of relaxation amid the chaotic backdrop of a city known for its around-the-clock energy.
I feel at ease immediately as she guides me through her new studio at 3100 S. Durango Drive, Suite 106. During my exploration, it’s clear she is not only technically adept in the holistic healing methods but even more passionate about the work she and her team do to help people understand the power of her services and reconnect with an essential part of who we all are: humans experiencing life beyond what we can see.
“As a boutique studio, my hope is that we create an intimate environment that values every individual and their contributions to our growing community,” Peterson Ayoub says. “Each person who joins us enhances our collective energy, making the experience truly collaborative and centered on all of us.”

That connectedness was central to our conversation. Just as my fast-paced energy was interrupted by her presence, her journey to wellness was also spurred by a pause. After navigating stress and struggling to sleep in 2014, she says she sought yoga for relief, laying the groundwork for her interest in other practices, including meditation, reiki, and sound and vibrational therapies, all of which have become widely known for their abilities to induce relaxation, self-awareness and a deeper sense of balance.
Across all her services, I found sound therapy and its direct impact on the body to be particularly fascinating, especially as a counter to constant social media doomscrolling and the overstimulation that has become commonplace in many of our lives.
“We’re almost always a little bit on high alert,” she says. “Sometimes it’s hard to unwind from that. Sound can really help to break that cycle of being in that fight-or-flight mode.”

Inside its calming oasis, Balance Breath Bliss welcomes clients to join group sound baths or book private Soma Sessions for a more individualized experience. During private sessions, Peterson Ayoub uses instruments such as singing bowls and tuning forks tailored for each client. Group sessions, meanwhile, create a shared environment where participants experience the sound and collective energy together.

Her work reminds us that sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is slow down long enough to hear ourselves again. Her clients often leave feeling calmer and sleeping better, but the experience doesn’t end at the studio doors. She and her team partner with local treatment centers to support teens and adults, a mission that has become especially personal since losing her son in 2020. Now, as she deepens her practice in somatic breathing and coaching, she hopes to reach even more young people navigating life’s complexities.
