Bernie Blanks Brings Radical Simplicity to Skincare

If your bathroom counter is crowded with products and your skincare routine feels overwhelming, Bernie Blanks understands. After years of listening to patients describe expensive products and complicated regimens, the Las Vegas-based nurse practitioner and skincare entrepreneur decided to create something simpler.

“I wanted to make a skincare line for busy people who have real lives,” Blanks says.

His journey into skincare was anything but ordinary. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Blanks spent 20 years in Germany, singing and performing. He later became a bareMinerals brand ambassador on German QVC, a role he held for six years. Helping introduce the brand's skincare line sparked an interest that eventually brought him to Las Vegas, where he attended nursing school and pursued a career in aesthetics.

For the past decade, Blanks has worked as an injector at Advanced Aesthetics. Through conversations with patients, he noticed that teachers, bartenders, dancers and other busy professionals wanted to care for their skin but often found the cost and time commitment of traditional regimens difficult to manage.

“I was definitely moved by price and accessibility,” he says.

Blanks pushes back against the idea that a meaningful skincare routine requires endless layering or a cabinet full of products. Bernie Blanks Solutions centers on four items: a face wash, a day serum, a night serum and sunscreen. The brand’s approach is “radically simple skincare.”

Developed over three years with a laboratory in South Korea, the line combines traditional Asian botanicals with contemporary skincare ingredients. Blanks also wanted to focus on the skin microbiome, which plays an important role in maintaining healthy skin. Asked what he hopes people associate with his products, his answer is immediate: “ease coupled with efficiency.”

At In Fine Form on Nov. 12, presented by Chic Compass, Blanks hopes to offer more than a product introduction: a more approachable way to think about self-care.

“I want skincare to be a happy, joyous, easy thing,” he says.

The collection is planned for all three Advanced Aesthetics offices, with online shopping also in the works.
