Getting to Know Kimberly Klepatz of Las Vegas Laser Services

As a licensed advanced esthetician and owner of Las Vegas Laser Services, Kimberly Klepatz combines technology with personalized care. Her business specializes in laser hair removal and biomagnetic therapy, along with treatments such as microneedling, skin tightening, chemical peels and facials. She is also trained in laser acupuncture and has a certification in colon hydrotherapy.

Before working in aesthetics, she worked in nightclubs. Knowing it wasn't something she could do forever, she began looking for another path. A career in aesthetics wasn't completely unfamiliar territory. Her father is a dermatologist, while her mother spent more than 10 years in the beauty industry, working for companies including Clarins, Shiseido and Clinique.

“I love working with gadgets and love aesthetics,” said Klepatz, who is triple-certified on most of the lasers she uses. “I don’t like a lot of touch. It’s more always with equipment.”

Her preference for equipment is reflected in some of the services she offers. One that has been gaining popularity is ThermiVa, a nonsurgical vaginal procedure that Klepatz said more women are becoming comfortable discussing.

“It's for incontinence and can tighten and also increase lubrication,” she said. “It's not a menopause thing. It's for women of all ages.”

As technology continues to evolve, Klepatz has continued to update the equipment she uses in her practice. She is currently on her third ThermiVa machine and makes a point of staying up to date with new developments in laser treatments. Las Vegas Laser Services also has a medical director, Dr. Thomas Shang, who oversees the medical side of the practice.

Over the years, Klepatz has built much of her clientele through word-of-mouth rather than traditional advertising. Many of those clients have become more like family.

“When you don't have family out here, your clients become like your family,” she said. “You know when their dog dies, you know when they lose their spouse, those types of things. And, you know, all the fun stuff too.”

Klepatz has also added a wellness space in the building next door. The space includes 12 additional rooms and focuses on what she describes as "body, mind and spirit." One tenant offers sound baths and light therapy, while others provide services that complement what is already available at Las Vegas Laser Services.

After more than three decades in the industry, she also enjoys encouraging other business owners, particularly women who are interested in opening their own ventures. She doesn't subscribe to the idea that people should keep their ideas to themselves out of fear that someone will take them.

"There's enough for everyone," she said. "To me, that's a scarcity mindset. There is enough."

Her advice for those starting out: Do the research, understand the realities of the work and stay the course when challenges come along.

"Just go for it. Find a way and don't give up."
